Blue Hole Secret Falls from Falmouth Cruise Port
Turquoise river pools, rope swings and waterfalls hidden in the hills above Ocho Rios, with a private driver who meets your group at the port and plans the whole day backwards from your all-aboard time.
Jamaica’s favorite adventure waterfall, without the cruise-bus crowds
Blue Hole, also called Secret Falls or Island Gully Falls, sits in the lush St. Ann hills just above Ocho Rios. Cool spring water tumbles over limestone into a chain of turquoise pools where you can swim, climb the cascades with a local guide, swing from rope swings, and jump into deep water if you’re feeling brave. Every jump is optional.
It feels wilder and more natural than Dunn’s River Falls, and because you travel privately, you arrive on your own schedule instead of with a full cruise bus. Your driver handles the scenic north-coast drive from Falmouth, waits for your group, and gets you back to the pier with time to spare.
- Private round trip from the Falmouth pier
- Return planned around your all-aboard time
- Swim, climb and jump at your own pace
- Optional jerk lunch stop if time allows

Blue Hole from Falmouth: FAQ
Straight answers to what cruisers ask most before booking.
Will we make it back to the ship on time?
That’s the first thing we plan. We check your ship’s arrival and departure times and work backwards from all-aboard, which is usually 30 minutes before the ship sails. The day is built to get you back to the Falmouth pier about an hour before all-aboard.
If your port window is too short for Blue Hole, we’ll tell you honestly and suggest a closer option like Martha Brae Rafting instead.
How far is Blue Hole from Falmouth Cruise Port?
Blue Hole is in the hills above Ocho Rios, about 1 hour 20 minutes from the Falmouth pier by private vehicle, depending on traffic. The drive follows Jamaica’s north coast highway, so the scenery is part of the trip.
With about 2–2.5 hours at the falls, plan on roughly 5.5 hours pier to pier.
Is Blue Hole the same as Secret Falls and Island Gully Falls?
Yes. Blue Hole, Secret Falls and Island Gully Falls are names for the same waterfall and river pools near Ocho Rios in St. Ann. You’ll see all three names used online and on signs.
Do I have to jump or climb?
No. Jumping and climbing are completely optional. Many guests simply swim in the pools, relax on the rocks or take photos while others in the group try the rope swings and jumps.
Local guides at the falls help guests find safe footing and the best spots.
Is Blue Hole good for kids or non-swimmers?
Blue Hole is best for confident, active guests. Older kids who swim well usually love it. Non-swimmers can enjoy the shallower edges with care, but the deeper pools aren’t suitable without strong swimming ability.
For young children or non-swimmers, Martha Brae Rafting or the Horseback Ride & Swim may be a better fit. Tell us your group’s ages and we’ll advise.
Blue Hole or Dunn’s River Falls: which is better from Falmouth?
Both take about the same time from Falmouth. Choose Blue Hole if you want a more natural, adventurous setting with swimming, rope swings and jumps. Choose Dunn’s River if you want Jamaica’s most famous waterfall climb and a beach at the bottom.
On a long port day, some groups do both. Ask us if your schedule allows it.
What’s included in the price?
Your estimate includes private round-trip transportation from the Falmouth pier for your group only, plus estimated Blue Hole admission. Your final price is confirmed when you book, so there are no surprises on the day.
Food, drinks, lockers, guide tips and souvenirs aren’t included. Bring small US bills.
Where do we meet our driver?
Meeting arrangements are confirmed with your reservation. Port access rules and authorized pickup areas can change, so we send exact instructions for your sailing, including how to identify your driver.
If anything changes on the day, WhatsApp us at +1 (876) 894-1619.
Can we add a lunch stop or another attraction?
Yes, if your port hours allow it. A quick jerk chicken or patty stop fits most standard days. Adding Dunn’s River Falls usually needs a long port day of 9+ hours.
We’ll confirm what fits safely before you book, never on the day.
How do we book?
Tap Reserve Blue Hole to book online, or send your ship name, cruise date, port hours and group size on WhatsApp. We’ll confirm your price, pickup time and return plan.
Booking early is smart: Falmouth often hosts more than one ship, and private vehicles fill up first on busy days.
